DAWN RAINEY PRESIDENT'S AWARD

Dawn Rainey served Ridley Raider Youth Football & Cheerleading as its President since the organization came to be in 2009 and remained as President at the time of her passing in October 2021.

RRYFC started as a club comprised of about 75 players and cheerleaders collective and is now one of the largest organizations in Ridley Township with our numbers continuously growing each year all due to Dawn’s hard work and dedication for not just within our organization but the Ridley Community.

In 2020, Dawn presented her idea to the RRYFC Board of Directors, that she wanted to create the “President’s Award”. This award is presented to one Senior in their final year of the Ridley Raider Youth Football & Cheer Program and must exemplify the following traits:

"Outstanding Performance, Pride in our Program and Exceptional Dedication to your Teammates and Coaches"

In October 2021, Dawn lost her battle to Stage 4 Metastatic cancer. She fought hard and never gave up on her journey through and through. She was the ultimate fighter and never let her shining light dim.

In 2022, Bill Soper, who formerly served as Vice-President under Dawn for many years, was voted in a President. Bill suggested that going forward for years to come, that the President’s Award be renamed as the “Dawn Rainey President’s Award”

We can only hope to continue to carry on Dawn’s legacy throughout our football and cheer organization as we continue to thrive and grow. We know we would all be making Dawn so very PROUD today!
